PRETTY VACANT

Inspired by the Kent Building’s role as an illegal moonshine HQ in the 1958 film Thunder Road and its history as a Cold War fallout shelter, SDW designed an illicit grow-room bar and connected suite hidden deep within The Radical hotel. The interiors feature restored mid-century furnishings, custom grow-light chandeliers, and fever-dream artwork by muralist Ian Wilkinson, all set within a solid concrete room.
